Step 1: Download and Import the Xpertdoc Smart Flows Solution(s) for Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • Download the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Core Managed solution and if you want to use Workflows, download also the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Workflows Managed solution as well.
  • Import the solution(s) in the target Dynamics 365 instance via Settings > Solutions

Step 2: Set Security Roles

  • In Dynamics 365, go to Settings > Security > Users and give the relevant users one of the Xpertdoc Smart Flows security roles.

Step 3: Configure the Smart Flows Project Console for First Use

  • Upon your Xpertdoc Smart Flows Purchase or Trial, you have received an e-mail with first time log-in information for you Xpertdoc Smart Flows project. Open the project URL and log in with native user credentials. Use the credentials in the e-mail. 
  • Follow the Initialization Wizard to set up a Dynamics 365 connector and a standard language for your project:
    • Give your project a name.

    • Choose your default project language


    • Configure a connector to the target Microsoft Dynamics 365 instance (make sure you log into that instance before you proceed and authorize via OAuth2).








      Sync the users that have an Xpertdoc Smart Flows Security role in Dynamics 365



      You are now ready to create your first data sets, templates and flows. 

Step 4: Download and Install the Xpertdoc Template Builder Add-in for Microsoft Word

  • Download the Xpertdoc Template Builder for Microsoft Word. Make sure you have all the necessary requirements for running the add-in. You can find these requirements here.
  • Install the add-in

Step 5: Configure the Template Builder

  • Open Microsoft Word, and go to Xpertdoc Template Builder > Options > Server Instances. Create a new server instance. Fill out the base URL of your project (without /project) and choose to Authenticate via Dynamics.
